Hey! Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope that you’re here because you love fresh, local, seasonal food cooked from scratch. Because that’s what I do and I want to share it with you.

I have a passion for cooking and photography and love where I live, here in the Okanagan valley in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. It’s a place where I can walk down the block and pick a pail of fresh cherries, apricots, peaches or apples, depending on the season.

I’m also fortunate to have a garden that I love to dig in, and I take huge delight and satisfaction in cooking and preserving my own organically grown food. What we can’t or don’t grow or forage for ourselves, we look for in our local farmer’s markets, produce stands and artisan producers whenever possible.

I believe in eating real. That means eating what nature gives us, not what is produced in a factory. Processed foods might be convenient, but there is a cost to our health, and also in flavor and love of good food, which is, to me, one of the true simple pleasures in life.

My recipes are not specifically gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, paleo, low carb, or any diet, because I don’t believe in diets, although I do respect everyone’s individual choices in how they want to enjoy real food. My personal belief is that we humans are omnivores, who should definitely eat a mostly plant based diet, and that our protein sources should be humanly raised and eaten in very small quantities.

But you won’t have trouble finding any of those diet specifics here, because most of them are based on fresh, healthy, good food, which is what my site is all about.

  1. LOOKS GRRRRRREAT can’t wait to try some of these. My family may not be as willing, as they are picky eaters BUT i am sick of the same things so I have been making separate meals for myself and that chilli looks YUMMY!
